These plants are known most for their inescapably pungent smell while growing and smoking. There is a thick, citral smell laced with a heavy almost sour odor that is similar to diesel fuel (hence the name). These hybrids are almost entirely Sativa in origin (Mexican strains). It was originally bred to produce the most psychedelic effect possible without lacing.
Growing tall and thin, like most Sativa plants, getting to about six feet indoors and much higher out. The leaves and buds get very purple with age and are the experienced grower’s indication of when to harvest, which is about when the light pink hues begin. Sour Diesel flowers for about 7-8 weeks and has a heavy smoke with a very hard-hitting buzz that can last a very long time. This is often one of the most commonly-prescribed plants in California for such conditions as Edema, Epilepsy, Fibromyalgia, and very heavy, chronic pain.

Buky Kush
This, and its variants are some of the best Sativa’s out there, if not the best. Personally I like something a little (okay a lot) more couch-lock-y. So for me, personally, I would rate this strain a 7 due to the lack of some indicia type qualities.
That said, if you are looking for a pure sativa high, then I highly recommend this strain (again, and its variants, like NYC Diesel, depending on if you want a little extra giggles or whatnot). It is hard to beat and for that purpose deserves a 9 or 10 rating.

This is a great ganja to smoke near the end of the night. It makes you at peace with everyone around you, it also makes you very nice to talk to. The taste is alright. The only downside about Sour Diesel is the taste. It is a bit tricky to light unless you grind it up before you smoke. Hits great in any glass; bong, bubbler, and a bowl. It is also smart to drink some soothing tea before you go to bed or else you will wake up with a sore/scratchy throat. Sour Diesel will also give you the munchies!

I smoked this out of my tiny bong when i first got my card and it was pretty amazing, but it is not the kind of weed that you can smoke half a bowl and some back later because the sour part will taste kinda funny to me. But out of a pipe when your on the job or out with your friends. I smoked about 2 bowls before i went Airsofting and it was one of the best days I have had in a long time.
I truly recommend this to all pot smokers new or old.

I smoke this strain quite a bit and am very pleased every single time. It is a strong sativa high but does not leave you couch locked. Be prepared and keep food and drinks near by. Tastes very good as well.

This is most definitely my favorite sativa strain and possibly favorite of any. I have been steadily smoking every day for about 5 months so i have a considerably high tolerance for pot but this stuff is insanely strong. I can take three hits off a joint and feel pretty good for about 45 minutes. An entire bowl and im on a whole new level. HIGHLY recommend this to anyone. Really euphoric high, awesome for smoking in groups.

Smoking this stuff is like climbing to the top of the space needle, spinning around in circles with your eyes closed, and then jumping off head first…. It’s a fucking thrill. Nothing compares to the smell and taste of some sour diesel. Every time I smoke it (which is regularly) I end up frolicing through the house singing ballads from random movies and musicals. And believe me, frolicing isn’t something that I do….usually. With just one hit, my pain melts away like butter. Find someone who grows it right, and you’ll never be let down! Highly recommended! Warning: you may find yourself painting butterflies, praying to Jesus, or just maybe…..frolicing. Happy smoking!

This strain had a very sour piney smell. Also had an amazing taste to it. The high was somewhat short to other strains but i still liked it alot. I would recommend this bud to anybody with who wants a nice relaxing bud.

I don’t wanna spoil all the good reviews, but I tried sour d once, and I had a pretty awful trip. The first hit was a bad one, but on the second hit, which was very long, hit mr right away. In about 30 seconds later, I was skipping laps around my the house. But things quickly turned from good to bad. I started experiencing something similar to a hypoglycemia epedemic, and walking home, it would constantly feel like I had a heart stack and the bones in ye middle of my chest where being grinder up. Also makes you feel, well in my case anyway, like being a million bubbles rather than a person. Personally, I would not try it again due to extreme paranoia, and overall displeasure.

The Sour D I get kicks like an angry bull. First time I smoked it, I started out taking 2 big hits n ended up on my bed wondering how the hell I got hit so hard. I swear I could hear things for miles including an argument my friend was having about a block and a half away which he wondered how I knew about. Depending on the quality of the stuff that you purchase, Sour D is easily grade A stuff. The only negative I had was that if you smoke too much of it in one sitting, you’re subject to a bad trip.

I actually compare it to Lemon Haze right now since they both make me goofy and tired and are both good for insomnia and deeper sleep. Its not my favorite strain, but is a good quality sativa strain. Warning: it may have strong effects on you if you are a lightweight smoker. It has semi-hallucinogenic effects. Its hard to concentrate on this strain, so imo its not good for doing thinking work or conducting business on. Its more of a high that you should get at night, while watching a movie or having a night in. Its not a party bud, but a personal bud to be smoked at night.
