These plants are known most for their inescapably pungent smell while growing and smoking. There is a thick, citral smell laced with a heavy almost sour odor that is similar to diesel fuel (hence the name). These hybrids are almost entirely Sativa in origin (Mexican strains). It was originally bred to produce the most psychedelic effect possible without lacing.
Growing tall and thin, like most Sativa plants, getting to about six feet indoors and much higher out. The leaves and buds get very purple with age and are the experienced grower’s indication of when to harvest, which is about when the light pink hues begin. Sour Diesel flowers for about 7-8 weeks and has a heavy smoke with a very hard-hitting buzz that can last a very long time. This is often one of the most commonly-prescribed plants in California for such conditions as Edema, Epilepsy, Fibromyalgia, and very heavy, chronic pain.

Bud was nice and dense, perfect dryness, broke apart ice and easy.
Didn’t have a crazy strong odour in small amount, but when you broke open a nug you could smell a nice fruity sour aroma.
Taste was good, nice smooth on first, continuously smoking it, it gets harsher, I noticed.
Caused pretty bad dry mouth, but other than that it was good.

This was a delicious tasting strain! A first, it has a heavy body, but in the next 30 minutes, I was super chill and my mind was beyond clear. I enjoy this bud very much. One of my top 5.

Sour diesel was THE first stain i ever tried. I have continued to purchase this strain for numerous reasons
1. Amazing smell and TASTE!!! (really has a sour taste that makes my mouth water)
2. A nice refreshing high, i usually smoke it when im feeling tired to liven me up a bit
3. Crazy trichomes (usually my grinder catches enough kief from an 1/8 of sour D for another smoke or two.
4. potency (usually only takes a hit for me to feel it, so i usually only smoke a .2 or .3 which makes it possible for me to make an 1/8 last a week or longer)

Purchased from Med Ex in Scottsdale AZ – $25 1/8th
I was looking for a sativa to for the mornings to help with the day. This is a strong sativa, however it did not have the effects I was looking for. The smell of the bud is fantastic, smells almost like a sweet and light citrus flower. However this left with some negatives, there was a strong 30 min of a strong marijuana effect. After that for the next hour or so I felt like I was in a haze with a slight headache. It was not enjoyable and it happened multiple times. This is a quality frosty bud however it does not work well with me.

BEST. STRAIN. EVER. I’ve never been higher than after smoking some sour D. It made me incredibly happy, talkative, giggly, and absolutely euphoric. I tried to order quesadillas over the phone and ended up laughing hysterically for twenty minutes because the word quesadilla just sounded so funny in my head. I would definitely recommend this strain to anyone. There should be an international holiday celebrating sour diesel. amen for sour diesel. four for you, sour d, you go sour d.
