The fabled G-13 strains origins read more like legend than actual pedigree – G-13 was supposedly developed and grown by the U.S. government for its marijuana experimentation projects. In actuality, there exist several varieties of G-13, each stabilized and sold by different breeders. In most cases, G-13 is powerfully strong, with a potent body stone and crazy couchlock effects, making this a definite end-of-day strain to smoke. The plants themselves tent to stay short and stocky, with tight, dense buds. G-13 has a very hashy smell that reminds some of burning bubble hash – probably due to its ridiculously high resin production.

The first strain I ever tried was called G-13, which has a peppery aroma that will stink up your room unless you use good containers. G-13 performs best in terms of long duration and relaxation. Gives you a strong appetite but without the usual severe couchlock. Excellent strain developed and bred in Mississippi labs with some of the best strains and super hybrids in the sixties.

When first bought this the thing that got me first was the sharp strong scent cumming from the nugs. In MY opinion in smells like a mix of espresso and citrus notes. I’m a pretty avid smoker with a high tolerance, so some of these top rated strains are just okay feeling on me. Are you one of those people too? This is not a case of this. G13 started out with a plan to smoke a whole bowl because with my ridiculous tolerance it felt like the amount was necessary. Took a hit for the fourth time with like half a bowl or so left, and I felt the urge to PUT IT DOWN. I was like “the fuck?” When I did this because in the past, even though I would feel high, I just kept roasting and roasting it. I stood up and felt what was like the ocean crashing over my body. Full wicked thick body buzz with some obvious sativa effects which make me think that g13 has some sativa in it or whether or not its just the low buzz that’s clouding my judgment. Just in case I called my dispensary and they said it was a 7th generation hybrid, but the effects I was feeling was of a. 95/5 indica dominant strain. Flabbergasted and stoned out of my mind, the high lasted about 2 more hours with a soft slow easy let down. Smoke is a little thick so if you have asthma or bronchitis like I do, take baby hits unless you wanna cough up a lung. Wherever? you can buy this, DO IT, it’s so worth it!!

A true MEDICAL strain – pain reduction, stress relief and can be a light sleep aid, yet very aware and alert. I would not recommend G13 for recreational use. When taken in larger doses, the “high” is very, very, very boring. I just felt very relaxed and not much else. But then again, that’s usually a good thing because often we want the medical benefits without the euphoria. I would definitely recommend G13 to any patient who wants to avoid the typical “high” feeling.

The most well rounded strain I’ve ever experienced, through all modalities. This sits in my top three of all time. I use cannabis as 7/10 medicinal for chronic insomnia and depression (which have been tapered to nonexistent), and 3/10 recreationally. So I tend to love those strains that will help me sleep but keeps engaged as long as I’m trying to be. And G-13 just is top tier on all accounts.
