News » TSA Finds 1/2 Ounce In Rapper’s Luggage, Let’s Him Keep It
December 16, 2011 by justin
Rapper Freddie Gibbs isn’t shy about his use of marijuana.
He recently told NPR “I definitely smoke weed, pray, and just rap to myself and pace around. Just get in the mode for the show. What’s the last thing I do before I go onstage? Smoke weed.”
Not wanting to be apart from his stash, he hid half of an ounce of pot in his luggage while traveling recently. He did not pass through security with his stash, preferring to check his bags with his weed in inside while passing through Denver, Colorado.
As fate would have it, the TSA performed a search of Gibbs’ luggage, finding his bag of marijuana. What happened next was surprising.
Rather than confiscate his pot, the agent chose instead to leave Gibbs a note and the standard “Notice of Baggage Inspection” that the TSA leaves when they search an item. Gibbs disclosed the contents of that note on his Twitter account.
“The TSA found my weed and let me keep it,” he wrote. “They just left me a note. “C’mon Son.””
