News » Sensible Washington Launching New Medical Marijuana Campaign

August 21, 2010 by

The group that sponsored the failed attempt to get medical marijuana on the ballot in Washington State this year is coming back for more.  Sensible Washington is launching their 2011 legalization campaign on Hempfest in Seattle.

The ballot initiative petition fell short of signatures to get on the ballot for 2010, says Sensible’s chairman Douglas Hiatt, but they have high hopes for 2011.

This has been a tough year for marijuana legalization in Washington, with a legislative bill was killed as was another bill that would have effectively decriminalized marijuana (making it a civil infraction).

Hempfest began this weekend in Seattle’s Myrtle Edwards Park.
